Why
Everything in EDGAR is public. What you pay a vendor for is the parsing: turning a Form 4 into a transaction with a direction, a price and a 10b5-1 flag, or a 13F into holdings you can diff quarter over quarter. This library is that parsing, extracted from Sentinel so CopeNet and anything else can reuse it.
What’s inside
- Forms 3, 4 and 5 parsed into transactions and holdings, with the Rule 10b5-1 flag.
- Form 13F-HR institutional holdings and quarter-over-quarter changes.
- Ticker to CIK resolution and filing discovery by form type: 4, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, 144 and the rest.
- Point-in-time revenue and EPS series with filing provenance, and historical trailing P/E.
- Bounded XBRL Company Concept and Frames queries.
- Insider-signal payloads, labelled experimental. The scores are heuristics, not advice.
- A download-once local filing store, an async client with rate limiting, and a small FastAPI demo service that runs with
docker compose up.
The README labels each feature stable, beta or experimental, and lists the known limits, including duplicated or mislabelled periods in the financial summary endpoints. Those labels are honest and I would rather keep them than hide them.

The demo
The Insider Signal demo on this site ran this library behind a proxy on AWS. The hosting credits ran out, so the demo is offline until it has a home that costs nothing. The UI is still at /demos/sec so you can see what it did. The plan is to render insider pages statically on a schedule, since the data is free and a static page needs no server.
